Tara Young, 33, is the sales manager for the Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre. She started at the centre in 1993 as a co-op student, and then worked her way up from reservation co-ordinator. She is a member of numerous community organizations including the Rotary Club of North Bay Nipissing.

Q: What is your greatest accomplishment?
A: My three beautiful children...as well as helping people in need locally and internationally as a member of several organizations. The thing closest to my heart would have to be a wheelchair ramp I helped to provide for a beautiful girl with cerebral palsy.

Q: Who is your most valued mentor?
A: My parents are my most valued mentors. They have been there for me, and they have enabled me to accomplish my goals. I know they will help me to stay grounded and continue to support me through all my decisions in life.

Q: What do you love most about North Bay
      and area ?
A: The unity of organizations, and wonderful individuals. They are always reaching out to help one another. Their dedication to the success of North Bay is overwhelming. The beautiful waterfront, sunsets, and crisp winter days are also other great advantages of living in northern Ontario.

Q: What else would you like to accomplish?
A: I want to continue to grow, learn and always except a challenge for growth within my career, while helping people in need. Also, to teach and to guide my children to care about the less fortunate while following their dreams, and to help them to grow up to be well-rounded individuals. I feel it is important to give back to our community now and always.
