Brad Gavan, 34, is the director of advancement and alumni services
at Canadore College. He has a decade of experience in marketing. He
studied Marketing at Canadore, and has a BA from Nipissing University.
Q: What
is your greatest accomplishment?
A: I was part of Canadore College
and Nipissing University's Learning
Library Campaign cabinet that
raised more than $7 million. I
was also a member of the 2007
Hockeyville committee that helped
North Bay showcase its love of
hockey and community spirit. The
city received $60,000 for arena
upgrades, hosted a pre-season
NHL exhibition game between
New York Islanders and Atlanta
Thrashers, and was featured in a
CBC Television special.
Q: Who is your most valued mentor?
A: Here are five people who have
mentored me: Peter Gavan, Barb
Gavan, Ted Day, Barbara Taylor and
Gordon Cressy. I believe people
should have more than just one
mentor who can help them at different
stages of their lives.
Q: What do you love most about North Bay
and area ?
A: I love how people of North Bay work
together to help out each other.
Q: What else would you like to
accomplish?
A: I have always had a dream I would be
able to help some people check off
one of their bucket list items. I hope
one day, I will be able to organize a
group of people who will be able to
help North Bay people to make their
dreams come true.
