John is a personal trainer and co-owner of The Basement, a full-service gym. He is also a part-time professor in the physical management program at Cambrian College, and is a member of the advisory board. He brings a passion to whatever he does whether it’s coaching Sudbury Minor Hockey goalies or supporting charitable causes.
Q: What makes you happy about living in Sudbury?
A: The people! We are blessed to live in such a beautiful setting but the true wonder lies in the fact that we still keep such a strong community feel.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: I am most proud of my family life. It has been a challenge to balance a new marriage with running multiple businesses.
Q: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned?
A: Regardless of the hand you are dealt, hard work and the ability to rebound from failure will prevail.

A: Refuse to fail. If you believe there is an opportunity, work to ensure it becomes a reality.
