Q: What makes you happy about living in Sudbury?
A: In the summer my husband and I try to spend as much time as we can at our family camp. There is nothing better than spending a summer day by the lake. In the winter, we enjoy skating on Ramsey Lake and snowshoeing. I also love the sense of community in Sudbury. I can go out and about in the city and run into friends and colleagues.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: Opening a multi-disciplinary wellness centre which helps people in our community achieve their daily health goals.
Q: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned?
A: My parents owned their own business and they taught me the value of working hard to give your family the best opportunities life can offer. They wanted my life to be better than theirs, and that was their motivation for working so hard.
Q: What is your personal motto?
A: Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I think specifically of health when I apply this motto. As a chiropractor, I cannot expect my patients to make healthy choices if I do not myself. I work hard every day to be a good example to my patients, friends and family.
Q: What advice would you give the other young leaders?
A: Choose a career path that you are passionate about and enjoy. Do not settle! If you love what you do, not only will life be more enjoyable, but you will have the best chance at being successful.
