Jennifer Baxter, 29, is owner/operator of Glen Eden Music Studio. A newcomer to North Bay, she moved to the city in 2007
with her husband. In that short time, she has made a difference in the
community. Generous with her time and talent, she is a guest organist at two
churches, and the collaborative pianist for the Rapport Singers of North Bay.
Q: What
is your greatest accomplishment?
A: The role of any teacher is significant
in the life of a child. I believe
having the opportunity to impact a
life through music is the greatest
achievement I could
ever attain.
Q: Who is your most valued mentor?
A: My piano teacher, Suzanne Hughes,
was the most influential person in
developing my career. We spent
12 years together working toward
my associate diploma. Suzanne
demands the best of her students,
and she has invested much of
herself to coach each person. I
model many of her practices in my
own studio and continue to share
the joys of music-making that she
shared with me.
Q: What do you love most about North Bay
and area ?
A: I love that we have four seasons.
The abundant music and arts
culture in North Bay is wonderful,
and the people are so welcoming.
Every aspect of my life has been
surrounded by supportive and
encouraging people.
Q: What else would you like to
accomplish?
A: I will continue to provide the
North Bay area with private piano
lessons and Music for Young
Children programming. My shortterm
plans include expanding the
newly introduced Music Pups class
designed for infants through age
four. My long-term dream is to open
my own natural Music Learning
Centre in my off-grid home.
