Tylor McNair (BA) is co-owner of Cousin Vinny's Restaurant & Bar in Hanmer. He and his business partner, Chris Vitiello, hope to open a second restaurant and eventually expand provincially. They support numerous community organizations and events, and take The Ride Safe campaign seriously, even if that means driving their customers home.
Q: What motivates you?
A: As young entrepreneurs we take our challenges as motivation. Our success as business owners is based on three things: fantastic customer service, great food and a strong presence in the community. We work hard every day to not only improve area of weakness, but perfect them.
Q: If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?
A: Nelson Mandela was a man who fought for what he believed in even when at times it came with personal sacrifice.
Q: What do you enjoy about living in Northern Ontario?
A: I'm proud to be part of our community. The only thing I wanted to do following graduation was to return to Sudbury. It may not have the excitement of the big city, but it does have great people and the beautiful outdoors.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A doctor. I was intrigued by the complexity of the human body and wanted to help sick people.
Q: What makes you happy?
A: Compliments on our food from customers; pleasing other people with the things we do in the community for the community; being successful at whatever challenge we embark on; and earning respect from our community, peers, friends and loved ones.
