Beau Frescura (CMA) is an investment adviser with RBC Dominion Securities. An executive member of the Rotary Sunrisers and vice-chair of the Certified Management Accountant, Sudbury branch, he also volunteers with the Sunshine Dream for Kids Foundation. His dragon boat team (Sudbury Canoe Club Chiropractic ) won the national championships in 2007. He was selected to give a convocation address on behalf of the Laurentian Alumni Association in June.

Q: What motivates you?
A: I always strive to push my mind and body to the next level. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to advance myself. I believe hard work and good ethical judgment create positive opportunities.

Q: If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?
A: Warren Buffett is regarded as one of the most successful investors in the world. He is also a notable philanthropist having pledged to give away 99 percent of his assets to charity.

Q: What do you enjoy about living in Northern Ontario?
A: As an active member of a dragon boat team, having Ramsey Lake in the city allows us to train minutes from home. The freshness of living in Sudbury gives us four wonderful seasons to enjoy and an amazing quality of life.

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I always wanted to become a business owner. Having the entrepreneurial bug at a very early age, I started a few small summer businesses. I am now running my own wealth management practice with RBC Dominion Securities.

Q: What makes you happy?
A: I love spending time and travelling with my wife, Amy. I also enjoy being in the company of good friends and family.
