Amy Fortier is the marketing co-ordinator for BESTECH. Fluently bilingual, she attended Georgian College and Collège Boréal, where she was a honours student. BESTECH was so impressed, they hired her before she graduated. "Smart and gets things done!" is how her boss describes her. Amy volunteers with numerous community organizations including Easter Seals and the Young Professionals Association.
Q: What motivates you?
A: Success, learning, creativity, teamwork and bringing happiness to others are my motivators.
Q: If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?
A: I'd like to meet my grandparents who passed away before I was born. I would like to get to know them, learn about my family history, hear stories about their lives, learn from their experiences, and see our physical and personality resemblances.
Q: What do you enjoy about living in Northern Ontario?
A: I enjoy the diversity that Northern Ontario has to offer with every season, the friendly communities and the magnificent forests and beautiful wildlife. I can enjoy all my favourite recreational activities including fishing, camping, golfing, and snowmobiling.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I've always loved animals, and I've always been extremely fascinated by whales, especially the killer whale. As a child, I wanted to be a zoologist or a marine biologist and work with killer whales.
Q: What makes you happy?
A: Being with friends and family and creating long-lasting memories. The people I love are very important to me and being with them makes me the most happy.
