Lisa, 31, is an independent investment advisor with Dundee Securities.
She reached the designation of Certified Financial Planner at 28 and has
more than 10 years in the financial industry. For the past four years, she
has had the rare distinction of holding the license to trade both mutual funds
and securities. The Sudbury native takes a hands-on approach to servicing her
clients. She has traveled as far as Moosonee, on the Polar Bear Express, to visit
with them in person. Lisa is married and has a one-year-old daughter. She also
has a longstanding 14-year relationship volunteering with the Children's Aid
Society.
Q: What
is your greatest professional
accomplishment?
A: The fact that I get to do what I love each day,
which is helping my clients in reaching their financial goals.
Q: Tell me
three lessons you have learned
A: Balance is an essential part of every aspect of life.
Investing is emotional, even though emotions have no
place in investing.
Money is a tool, nothing more, nothing less.
Q: Who is your
most valued mentor?
A: My daughter. She starts every day fresh and she teaches
me something new each day.
Q: What is your greatest
professional challenge?
A: Being a young female in a male-dominated industry, that
may also be my greatest advantage.
Q: What is the one thing
that would "surprise"
people the most about you?
A: I love spy novels.
